LEDs after a certain point don't turn on
If you turn on your LEDs and notice all of them after a certain point don't turn on, you probably have one of two issues:
You need to change the total count of LEDs inside WLED.
- Go into WLED > Config > LED Preferences.
- Scroll down to "Hardware Setup" and change the "Length" field to the number of LEDs you have. If you have it set to too few, it will only turn on the number of LEDs you have it set to.
You have a bad LED and need to replace it.
This can be caused by twisting the wires too much or an LED that simply burned out. To replace the LED, all you need to do is cut it out and splice in a new one. You will hopefully have some left over from your installation that you saved. If you don't, send us an email at

- Unplug your controller box before cutting anything.
- Cut out the first LED that is not working. Cut close to the LED so you have plenty of wire to work with.
- Splice in a new LED, verifying that it is facing the correct direction. The LEDs have an input and an output side (see pictures below).
- Plug your box back in and turn on the lights. If it still doesn't work, verify that your splices are good. If that still didn't do the trick, send us an email at support@shawtechlighting.com.
