How to replace an LED

How to replace an LED

A bad LED can be caused by twisting the wires too much or an LED that simply burned out. To replace the LED, all you need to do is cut it out and splice in a new one. You will hopefully have some left over from your installation that you saved. If you don't, send us an email at support@shawtechlighting.com and we'll send you a few extras.
  1. Unplug your controller box before cutting anything.
  2. Cut out the LED that is not working. Cut close to the LED so you have plenty of wire to work with.
  3. Splice in a new LED, verifying that it is facing the correct direction. The LEDs have an input and an output side (see pictures below).
  4. Plug your box back in and turn on the lights.
